Founded by Shawn after years in Australia's café scene, brought home to the neighbourhood that raised him.

Our Story

Six years of resilience,
supported by community.

Opening during the start of the pandemic shaped our resilience and deepened our connection with the neighbourhood.

2018 – 2019

Australia

Shawn spends years in Australia's café scene, learning the craft of specialty coffee, hospitality, and the slower rhythm of a true neighbourhood café.

2020

The First Door

Project CAN opens in Gelugor at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Movement controls, delivery limits, constant adjustments. The vision stays strong.

2021 – 2023

Built by Neighbours

Through lockdowns and reopenings, the community shows up. Members grow, the menu deepens, the caravan rolls out for events around Penang.

Today

Home for Many

Six thousand members. Weekday lunches, family weekends, birthdays, quiet pauses. A nature-infused space where every visit feels welcoming.
